Does Window Film Actually Work?

Yes, window films work! It has been proven that higher quality window films block up to 79% of the solar heat, reduce glare up to 83%, block 99% of UV rays, and can reduce heat loss in winter by up to 30%. Window films offer a cost-effective solution for existing windows to look and perform as well or better than reflective glazing.

While there are a number of options available when it comes to upgrading your windows, window film offers a non-disruptive, affordable solution to a variety of common concerns.

  • Solar window films are designed to address undesirable effects of the sun’s light coming through your windows. These films increase occupant comfort and improve energy efficiency by rejecting solar heat, blocking harmful UV rays, and reducing glare, while preserving natural light.
  • Security films help to prepare and protect your property and its occupants from the dangers posed by severe weather events, bomb blasts, and attempted break-ins. Security films work by holding the glass together even when it breaks. This maintains a protective barrier, delays unwanted entry, and protects occupants from the hazards of broken glass.
  • Decorative window films can enhance the design aesthetics of your space and provide privacy without the time and expense of traditional etched, sandblasted, or stained glass installation. Decorative films are available in a variety of textures, patterns, opacities, and even colors.

Like any product, some window films perform better than others and there are hundreds of films available to choose from.
